Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised to do so. Ensure application of highest standards for health and safety in immediate area of responsibility and ensure all team members across engineering co-operate with respect to company standards about matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours. Keep up to date in relevant technical areas and develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide effective delivery. Maintain knowledge of Industry best practice, promote a culture of engineering best practice, support in driving cultural development and change. Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities. Good communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines. Experience with lifting equipment & installation. Knowledge of standards & production of specifications. Knowledge of shielding & containment. Desirable: Brown-field Nuclear experience. Knowledge of pumps & pipework. Member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council. Experience in managing engineering scope for Projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). As a Senior Mechanical Designer your duties and responsibilities will include: The Senior Designer provides support and technical guidance for a team of multi-disciplined designers. The role will assure the quality of output to the required standards consistent with whole lifecycle from concept to in service support. The role requires a good understanding of engineering and design practices as relevant to the individuals discipline and the holder must be able to demonstrate appropriate CAD skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Key Responsibilities The role takes Designs and develops solutions, resolves design issues and problems for a range of specialist design situations.
