Principal Plant Design Engineer

Are you a seasoned engineer with expertise in high voltage (HV) primary plant design? We are seeking a Principal Plant Engineer to lead our Engineering Design team in delivering cutting-edge solutions for electrical substation projects up to 400kV. Key Responsibilities:

- Lead HV Primary Engineering design delivery with support from Design Engineers.

- Ensure adherence to company Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Procedures.

- Oversee planning and procurement for substation projects.

- Manage interdisciplinary design gaps in collaboration with project engineering managers.

- Assist in the day-to-day running of the design department and provide continuous team support.

- Coordinate workload, prioritize tasks, and contribute to Design and Engineering Management Plans.

- Liaise with project managers and other departments to meet contract requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

- Over 10 years of experience in a Design Office environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

- Experience with Autocad or similar software preferred.

- Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers.

- Ability to demonstrate the integrity of designs through calculations.

- Expertise in overall design and specification of electrical power systems.

- Previous experience as a senior HV Substation Primary Plant Design Engineer.

- Basic understanding of protection and control (P&C) aspects preferable.

- TP141 HV Substation qualification is advantageous.
