Principal Plant Design Engineer Are you a seasoned engineer with expertise in high voltage (HV) primary plant design? We are seeking a Principal Plant Engineer to lead our Engineering Design team in delivering cutting-edge solutions for electrical substation projects up to 400kV. Key Responsibilities: - Lead HV Primary Engineering design delivery with support from Design Engineers. - Ensure adherence to company Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Procedures. - Oversee planning and procurement for substation projects. - Manage interdisciplinary design gaps in collaboration with project engineering managers. - Assist in the day-to-day running of the design department and provide continuous team support. - Coordinate workload, prioritize tasks, and contribute to Design and Engineering Management Plans. - Liaise with project managers and other departments to meet contract requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: - HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - Over 10 years of experience in a Design Office environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages. - Experience with Autocad or similar software preferred. - Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers. - Ability to demonstrate the integrity of designs through calculations. - Expertise in overall design and specification of electrical power systems. - Previous experience as a senior HV Substation Primary Plant Design Engineer. - Basic understanding of protection and control (P&C) aspects preferable. - TP141 HV Substation qualification is advantageous.

Job Description: As an Interim Instrumentation Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role during this interim period, focusing on the design and engineering of instrumentation for specific packages and systems, including Process Instrumentation. Your responsibilities will include: - Specification of instrumentation. - Design of protective systems, such as Safety Interlocks and Asset Protection Interlocks. - Control system interfaces. In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for producing design documentation and ensuring the quality of work by reviewing the contributions of other engineers and designers. Essential Experience & Qualifications: To be successful in this interim role, you should have the following qualifications and experience: - A degree in a relevant field or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding. - A minimum of 5 years' experience working within a highly regulated industry. - Awareness of current standards, regulations, legislation, and technical developments. - The ability to provide technical input and produce technical deliverables. Nuclear experience is preferred, particularly if you have worked on Sellafield Ltd projects. Overview: Wilde Recruitment Ltd is working along side Balfour Beatty in order to recruit 2 Quality Engineers to work on long term projects in CV47 postcode areas. WFH / CV47 (2days remote) As a Quality Engineer your role will involve; To support the Balfour Beatty Vinci joint venture, working on HS2 deliver a world class railway in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance. To support the co-ordination, submission, compliance and management of all assurance activities and the resolution of assurance related issues. To ensure implementation BBV procedures to provide evidence of “self-assurance” including submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection plans for delivery of the works. To support the Construction teams, coordinate with Statutory Undertakers, Network Rail, Rail Systems contractors, Enabling Works contractors and Others throughout the design and construction of the works. Implement the BBV Way quality management system, which governs how BBV plan, manage and discharges its assurance obligations. Advise on the preparation of project quality documents and ensure these documents are prepared by competent people and that they are reviewed and revised as necessary e.g. IPTs. Utilise systems and processes for the management and control of site information, data, design and construction related documentation and records. Review subcontractors and other supplier’s assurance and provide guidance and training to construction team to deliver this approach. Reviewing the quality procedures of sub-contractors and suppliers and when necessary, undertaking audits of their Quality Management Systems. Working with design teams to ensure the coordination of interfaces with Statutory Undertakers, Network Rail, Rail Systems contractors, Enabling Works contractors and Others. Supporting the construction teams establish test and inspection plans for review and acceptance prior to construction activities being undertaken. Maintaining a close working relationship with project team to ensure the incorporation of buildability and maintainability, whole life value, sustainability and safety requirements in design, construction, operations and maintenance. Establishing a "right first time” culture to design development, planning, and construction of the works and developing a collaborative and progressive approach to assurance. Regularly audit the project against the defined quality and assurance arrangements, including field auditing of production teams. Report on the results of surveillance and audit. Report against quality performance KPIs. Analysing their results and reporting causes of failure to project management. Manage the non-conformance process and communicate lessons learned. Contributing to the continued improvement of quality performance through performance review and identification of appropriate training/coaching. Support and develop quality engineers. Demonstrate the BBV behaviours. Collaborate relentlessly. Ensure a relentless focus on Health & Safety. The following qualities/ experience are essential: Experience of Major Civil Engineering projects, preferably tunnelling. Extensive experience of construction in the UK Nuclear sector. Knowledge and experience of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice for the UK Nuclear sector. Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in Quality Management Preferably with experience of working in a construction environment, with Mechanical, Civil and electrical knowledge. Confident in working with Senior Management and able to challenge existing ways of working to support business improvement. Build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers. Training and facilitation skills and experience. Sub-Agent responsible for providing engineering and site managerial support for civil, structural and architectural work scope for delivery of the BEP Project. Works responsibilities. Produce method statements, risk assessment, and undertake periodic reviews. Produce QA/QC control plans for site works and manage those plans to the completion through the LTR files. Undertake temporary works reviews and produce temporary works briefs for issue to the temporary works manager. Undertake work scope material requirement reviews and place orders for those materials. Daily management of the engineering teams and supporting those teams during onsite works scope. Daily works communication to the works supervisors. Management of the requirements set out in the work scope. Daily monitoring of the works health and safety requirements. Produce works daily dairies. Qualification: - Civil Engineering or Construction based qualification HND Civil Engineering HND Construction Civil Engineering or Construction Based Degree Other construction based qualification considered case per case and based and on career experience. Essential Experience: - Site based civil engineering or site-based construction background with experience of reinforced concrete works, structural steelwork, in ground drainage, roads & street works and in ground drainage. Nuclear new build or nuclear decommissioning experience preferred but not essential. The ability to obtain BPSS is essential for this role.
